About Dr. Quimby

I am an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin, in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences, where I have taught since Fall of 2017. I previously taught at St. Edward’s University New College, for the Leadership and Communication major, starting in Spring of 2011. I was a Teaching Fellow at Fielding Graduate University where I co-taught Epistemologies and mentored students.

I have a bunch of degrees and stuff, and I love teaching and writing. I am a strong proponent of Transformative Learning, systems thinking critical thinking, postpositivism, curiosity, self-reflection, and compassion.

My research is at the intersection of cyberpsychology and digital culture. I care about why people do stuff online more than I care about what we name it. I think curiosity is awesome. You can learn more about me at michelann.com where you can also read my teaching statement.
